[QUOTE=dlepz;330]It takes a mix of both experience and books. If you never read anything at all you will never be a winning player but if you never play very many hands you will never learn how to apply that knowledge[/QUT

This is so wrong! Lots of players including myself have started out never reading a book and have won tons of money.I have even been an instructor along with many friends I know.I can recomend some books for those that do have problems or need advice.1 Big thing I can say is even if your a tourny or mtt player or even SnG, for online poker don't be afraid to sit down on a play money table or tourny just to practice fix those kinks you feel you might have or to even vent a tilt you may have had on a cash table previously.

Also as a new player just knowing the fundamentls of poker is good enough just beware of bankroll management play small 1 cent 2 cent cash tables keep it as abc as possible till you feel more comfortable to really gamble or small 10 cent sng's or practice on play money tables.Remember on low stakes tables of that sort fish are everywhere call and bet when you are 100 % sure don't be afraid to fold even huge hands..If you are down to 1 second left on the clock trying to think if those aces are still good on a scary board FOLD IT ,It takes a good player to fold a great hand and a bad player to go broke and learn how to leave the game even if your behind your initial buyin ..you will just go on tilt and keep saying oh maybe the next hand..see this happen way to often
